From running to Triathlon

 How did I get into Triathlon?

Changing your lifestyle from a sedentary person into a more active person is already a huge accomplishment, regardless of which stage of your life you are in. I always had the desire of a fit body ( I guess everyone does, right? 6 pack abs, who would complain about those?? )

It took a while in life until I had a proper maturity and get my life in place, getting all these elements together and aligned in a way that I could mentally focus on my health and my body took more than I ever thought it would. I must confess that I admire the youth that is capable of focusing not only in all their personal goals but in they body as well.

I wasn’t one of those teenagers os young adults. No, not me. It felt like a journey the path that I had to take to understand the benefits of exercise.

#1st step into Triathlon

As you know I started my exercising life with running, it might not be the case for everyone but I just felt that something was missing. I just couldn’t keep on going just with running, my competitive mind was an ongoing machine and running is great – don’t get me wrong I really like it. But it just wasn’t enough for me.

First TriathlonI have always been a very demanding person, an OCD anxious perfectionist that would be one of the best definitions of me so far, it probably apply at least on 3 if not 4 psycho categories. lol.

Anyway, I just couldn’t run every day of the week, I still needed to fill all that anxiety space inside of me and relief my body from my perfectionist stress. Not to mention I was competing with anything that was ‘running pass me’ even if they weren’t.

It does worth to mention that my partner is a cyclist and I got myself going for a ride or two with him now and then, it was then that I thought about it, after all how hard could it be, right? I was already doing 2 of 3 skills.

It was then that I decided to set a training routine for my Triathlon wanna be new lifestyle. The best part? Well, the best part was telling others that I was (am) a triathlete, I felt so grand … I don’t know, like a super something. It just sprinkled.

It was then, then I discovered that I had found a passion. Practising 3 different sports and training each individually and combined brought me the level of pleasure, excitement and hard work that I was looking for.

Today I can say that I have found a sport that fulfil my new lifestyle and make me feel complete, I love triathlon.
